During our last COVID-19 Recovery Campaign, the San Francisco Japantown Foundation raised $214,700.00 to help Japantown organizations survive and continue providing vital services and programs for our community.
Since the height of the pandemic, organizations have had to prioritize their efforts. Due to loss in funding support, staffing and volunteers, many were unable to hold annual fundraising efforts, which helped offset operational costs.
The San Francisco Japantown Foundation has launched the 2023 SF Japantown CARES Fund, which will continue supporting nonprofits that work tirelessly for our community and promote the continuation of Japanese culture and traditions. These organizations play a crucial role in keeping Japantown vibrant and thriving. Your support is even more important today

The San Francisco Japantown Foundation’s mission is to support cultural, community and educational activities for San Francisco Japantown. Its vision is to preserve and honor Japantown’s history by fostering and providing funding for activities that reflect the Japanese American heritage, and to engage Japanese of all generations and all experiences.
